*** Meet The Academy's Faculty and Staff ***

All teachers who teach at The Academy are certified teachers, or under the direction of a certified teacher, with at least a bachelor’s degree. Every teacher is a born-again believer in Jesus Christ who professes to be living an appropriate Christian life.

Amanda McCallister graduated from Marshall University in 2003 with a degree in Kindergarten and Specialization in Pre-Kindergarten.  She is 25 years old and lives with her husband in South Point where they have been blessed with a beautiful farm.  They have horses, dogs, and cats which they spend a great deal of time with.

"My reason for wanting to become a teacher is simple, I want to give back what has been given to me.  We've all had good and bad experiences, but I want to help children see that they have a purpose in life and that all things are possible.  They are precious gifts from God and it pleases me to be in their presence and to be part of their lives."

Bethany Eller graduated in 2001 from Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.  In 2003 she graduated from Marshall University with a Master's degree in school counseling.  She is a resident of Chesapeake, OH and is getting married in May 2004.  Interest include music, outdoors, fond of animals, football, and volleyball.  She also is currently learning to play the fiddle and hopes to play in a band some day.

"I became a teacher because of the wonderful examples I had that impressed upon me, the importance of education, and the powerful influence a teacher can have on a student's life.  I love teaching because my students teach me every single day.  We have a family atmosphere, for we share not just our learning experiences together, but our lives as well.  I am honored to be teaching these children not just academics, but the ways of the Lord as well."

Cindy Queen is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in elementary education and special education.  She completed graduate courses at Marshall University and Morehead University.  She has 8 years teaching in the classroom.  She lives in Louisa, Kentucky with her husband and two sons.  They have been members of Christ Temple Church since March 2002.

Mrs. Queen's greatest hope is to impart the love of God and the desire to have an intimate relationship with Him to her own children and to her students.  She wishes to see each student she teaches excel academically and spiritually.  She wants all of her students to do their absolute best so they will be able to fulfill the plans God has for each of them.
